B2B SaaS — Performance Intervention

2024

Context

Atlas Analytics had consistent inbound acquisition driven by paid and partner channels. Trial volume was sufficient, but conversion to active usage and paid plans plateaued. User behaviour indicated exploration without commitment. Core functionality was rarely reached within the first session. The issue was not traffic. It was structural.

Governing Constraint

The product architecture assumed self-navigation. Value realisation, however, required guided sequencing. New users were exposed to a full dashboard environment before understanding the primary outcome the platform was designed to deliver. The system optimised for feature visibility rather than value progression.

Intervention

The intervention focused on restructuring early-stage product logic rather than redesigning surface UI. Re-sequenced onboarding into a guided 3-step activation path Reduced initial feature exposure to one core outcome Introduced a mandatory value milestone before dashboard access Embedded behavioural measurement at each transition point The objective was containment — not expansion.

Measured Shift
